Near-Infrared (NIR) Light Therapy

Photobiomodulation

Photobiomodulation (PBM)—formerly known as low-level laser therapy (LLLT)—is a form of light therapy that uses red or near-infrared light to stimulate healing, reduce inflammation, and relieve pain. It is non-invasive, non-thermal, and typically used in medical, dental, and cosmetic treatments.

How It Works:
PBM works by applying light at specific wavelengths (usually 600–1100 nm) to body tissues. These wavelengths penetrate the skin and are absorbed by mitochondria in cells. This leads to:

  • Increased production of ATP (cellular energy)

  • Modulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS)

  • Activation of transcription factors that promote cell repair and reduce inflammation

Common Applications:

  • Pain management (e.g. arthritis, joint pain, neck pain)

  • Wound healing (e.g. diabetic ulcers, burns)

  • Muscle recovery (used by athletes)

  • Neurological conditions (e.g. traumatic brain injury, peripheral neuropathy)

  • Skin treatments (e.g. acne, anti-aging, scar reduction)

  • Oral care (e.g. after dental surgeries)

Suggested pairing: Neuroglide: assists with the needed lymphatic draining that promotes the metabolism fat.

Pricing:

  • $40 - 20 min session
